Animae Gospel Choir

In February 2008 vocalist Glen Vella spoke about his dream of forming a Gospel choir to fellow singers and friends Pamela and Leontine, and instantly Animae Gospel Choir was formed. By March 10 well-known Maltese performers formed the choir as it is today.

With a lot of energy and positive vibes, and after months of rehearsals, these singers have managed to put their voices and souls together to create a Gospel sound which is now being pleasantly received by listeners during various occasions. The mixture of well-known Gospel songs together with other original tunes is what makes Animae Gospel Choir one of the finest musical groups in Malta. The soulish harmonies created leave an impeccable impression, and together with their moves performed throughout the songs, entice the audience to join in, clap and sing.

Be it in church, during a concert, or in an informal gig, Animae is there to provide you with a taste of the true soul and Gospel music. Members are: Glen Vella, Pamela, Leontine, Angela Spiteri, Diane Portelli, Anna Azzopardi, Josef Tabone, Christine Camilleri, Josef Cassar together with Christian Borg on piano. On the 17th and 18th October 2009 Animae proudly introduced new members, during their concert at the Manoel Theatre: Petra Zammit, Nadine Axisa, Annabelle Debono, Dorothy Bezzina, Isabelle Zammit, Dario Bezzina, Andrew Barberi, Louis Cassar and Ryan Abela; whom we all thank for their energy, talent and commitment.
